Månadens arrangör: Nordic Vibrations

//Månadens arrangör: Nordic Vibrations

– Nordic Vibrations is a non profit organisation, fueled by donations and people volunteering their time, aimed at bringing people together to collectively promote Nordic music and the local music scenes, within and outside of the Nordic region. Everything we do is done in English to ensure that we can reach the largest audience possible. We do this by hosting live events, broadcasting from cultural happenings, transmitting via our online radio station and website, collaborating with other organisations, who are dedicated to promoting the Nordic region, producing videos on music and by interacting with people on social media. That Thursday Thing is bi-monthly, 2-3 hour live radio broadcast event which features only music selected by our attendees, via our all request Nordic jukebox, as well as a live interview and session from that weeks musical guests, all of which is broadcast live, via our radio station, plus one song from each session is filmed, edited and released as a live music video. The entire show is put out as a podcast.

Do you experience that people are interested in new, upcoming live music?
– Oh, the experience is that there is a very high interest in new music from a wide age group of people in Göteborg. What we aim to do is give people the opportunity to discover and engage with new music, by holding events in an all ages venue during the early evening, this allows a wider range of people to attend and discover that music.

How did you find your way to Frilagret and why did you want to produce your events here?
– We attended the opening of Kafé Frilagret and talked to a couple of the programming team about the aims of Frilagret and what they wanted to achieve. Subsequently, we invited one of Frilagrets ambassadors to come for an interview during one of our broadcasts and discuss Frilagret further. As Nordic Vibrations and Frilagret share so many similar objectives we thought it was the perfect environment for us to produce events at. So we spoke to a few of the people at Frilagret who are responsible for programming about us working together, and here we are, one year on and ten great shows later!
